Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Efficiently performs cleaning and sanitizing tasks, including dishwashing, sweeping and mopping of floors, cleaning and sanitizing work areas and tables, cleaning kitchen equipment per manufactures recommendations, and the collection and removal of trash from work areas and the department.

  • Maintains and organizes storage areas by promptly storing received food items in their appropriate storage area, following FIFO, removing dented, damaged, or expired product, and complying with Food Safety Regulations.

  • Operate dish machine to wash and sanitize dishes, trays, utensils, and kitchen equipment in accordance with food safety and infection control standards.

  • Inspect cleaned items for sanitation and proper condition; return items to designated storage areas.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dish room, including floors, drains, and work surfaces.

  • Remove trash from kitchen following proper disposal procedures.

  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of kitchen, storeroom, refrigerators, and freezers.

  • Deliver food, supplies, and equipment to kitchen and service areas as needed.

  • Performs all tasks as assigned by Sr. Food Service Manager/Director. 

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Food Service experience preferably in a hospital setting preferred.

  • Must have the State of Texas Food Handlers certification within 60 days of hire.
