Food Services and Delivery Worker - Part Time

Revere Public Schools provides meals to 8000 students and faculty each school day. Food Service Workers prepare and serve nutritious meals in an atmosphere welcoming to all and are expected to be adept in performing all aspects of Cafeteria duties.

Reports to Director of Food and Nutrition Services

Duties include but are not limited to the following. Additions and modifications to these representative duties and responsibilities are under the purview of the Superintendent of Schools and Directors of Food and Nutrition Services.

Part Time Food Services and Delivery Worker responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Preparing meals.
• Serving meals.
• Utilizing various kitchen equipment.
• Operating cash registers.
• Assist with orders and deliveries.
• Completing required paperwork.
• Cleaning and sanitizing food prep, serving, and storage areas.
• Interacting with students, co-workers, and faculty members.
• Participating in delivering a quality dining experience for students and faculty members.
• Daily preparation and packing of meals intended for delivery to other school location(s)
• Daily delivery to assigned school(s)
• Fulfilling other duties consistent with operating a school meals program.
• Supporting the Director and Manager in fulfilling all other departmental responsibilities as requested.

SCHEDULE & COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UNIT

This is a part-time position, working 3.5 hours per day for the school year. Daily shift will be 8:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Salary, and benefits will be consistent with the AFSCME 93A Collective Bargaining Agreement.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory annual drivers' record check.
• Satisfactory Background Check.
• Ability to operate vehicle in inclement weather conditions like rain, snow or ice to keep themselves and others safe.
• Highly organized, with strong time management skills and independent, consistent initiative and follow through.
• Solid work ethic, trustworthiness, and record of reliable attendance.
• Ability to transfer, lift, carry, push, pull and transport heavy objects ranging up to 60 pounds.
• Sufficient auditory and visual acuity, mobility and agility to bend, reach, climb, stand and sit as needed to perform essential duties.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with fluency in writing, speaking and reading English.
• Familiarity and ability to use a variety of current technologies and office software.
• Familiar with requirements of USDA School Meals Programs.
• Proficiency in performing the full range of Cafeteria duties.
• Ability to operate Point of Service System.
• Handle cash transactions.
• Work effectively, efficiently, and independently.
• Demonstrated discretion, judgement and confidentiality in working with employees and students.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and respect for others.
• Superior Customer Service instincts.
• ServSafe Manager Certification preferred.
