ABOUT THE ROLE

Ignitus Recovery is a growing behavioral health organization providing residential and outpatient treatment for substance use and mental health disorders at Cherry Hills Recovery and Boulder Hills Recovery.

The Food Services Manager/Chef is responsible for managing daily operations of the Cherry Hills Recovery residential and outpatient kitchen and preparing all meals for clients and staff. The role ensures that clients and staff have consistent access to safe, nutritious, and well-prepared food options that support the therapeutic environment.

At Cherry Hills Recovery, we believe food is an essential part of whole person healing. We are seeking a Food Services Manager/Chef who will thoughtfully plan and prepare meals for clients that will support nourishment and overall wellness goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan all daily meals for residents and staff, following menus and dietary requirements.

  • Prepare and cook lunch and dinner for clients in residential programs. Work with BHT Staff to plan and prepare breakfast for residents and weekend meals

  • Prepare and cook lunch for clients in PHP outpatient program

  • Operate and maintain a residential kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Plan weekly menus, incorporating nutrition, clinical recommendations, and dietary restrictions.

  • Shop for groceries and supplies; manage inventory, stock rotation, and food storage.

  • Maintain strict food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards throughout the kitchen.

  • Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, appliances, and food prep areas.

  • Coordinate meal schedules with program staff and ensure timely service.

  • Clean kitchen and dining areas after meals.

  • Support special events or holiday meals as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient kitchen operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Professional cooking experience in a commercial, institutional, or residential kitchen setting
• Experience preparing meals for groups of 15–40+ individuals
• Knowledge of nutrition, menu planning, and dietary accommodations
• Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations
• Ability to work independently while maintaining organization and consistency
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 40+ pounds
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance for food purchasing
• Ability to pass federal, state, county, and sex offender registry background checks

Preferred Skills & Competencies

• Experience working in residential, healthcare, or behavioral health settings
• ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain certification
• Understanding of trauma-informed environments and hospitality-centered care
• Strong organizational and time management skills
