FOOD SERVICES TECHNICIAN INDUSTRIAL SETTING (SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER TREATMENT FACILITY)
BASIC FUNCTIONS
The basic functions of the Food Services Technician are preparing meals and snacks, ensuring a high level of daily nutrition, and participating in the planning and preparation of food for all facility fundraisers and special events.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Train, direct and supervise client crews in proper procedure for performance of their jobs. Prepare well-balanced and ethnically diverse meals. Maintain cleanliness standards in all kitchen and food storage areas. Ensure strict adherence to all health code regulations. Inventory and rotate food to ensure freshness. Adhere to posted menu. (Any menu changes must be approved by supervisor). Prepare meals for clients with special medical and / or nutritional needs. Assist with meal ticket sales. Report kitchen equipment maintenance issues to Supervisor immediately. Assist Supervisor in ensuring prompt payment of invoices.
Perform other related duties as assigned by Food Services Manager and / or the Food Services Assistant Manager.

EDUCATION / TRAINING
Must have High School diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE
Must have at least six months experience in culinary field. Must be able to successfully pass CRI-Helps motor vehicle insurers requirements to drive company vehicles.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to use hands and fingers in grasping, pinching, chopping, pulling, and lifting associated with preparing and cooking foods using knives, utensils, and cookware for durations of 6 - 8 hours.
Must be able to remain in a standing position for 6 - 8 hours. Occasional crouching below the waist and / or above the shoulders. Occasional lifting and / or moving of objects up to 75 pounds. Occasional pushing and / or pulling of objects up to 75 pounds. Occasional work may be performed at various locations across Los Angeles County. Frequent travel between facilities in a company van is required.
