Job Description

MU TITLE: Senior Program/Project Support Coordinator

LOCATION: Columbia, MO

This position is responsible for managing the implementation of food systems and nutrition strategies for the food systems and nutrition initiatives in the Health & Human Sciences Extension unit. Responsibilities include assisting faculty to build partnerships among Missouri stakeholders in support of food systems, nutrition, and Policy Systems and Environmental (PSE) efforts to improve nutrition security for Missourians. The position will provide technical assistance, resource materials and training for internal and external partners. Duties also include increasing support for implementation of work related to the food system and nutrition. This position will work closely with the Family Nutrition Education Programs (FNEP) leadership team and High Obesity Program (HOP) Regional Coordinators, and external organizations to implement statewide initiatives.

This is an in-person position located on the University of Missouri-Columbia campus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Work with campus faculty, principal investigators (PIs), and regional project managers to coordinate annual training schedule, professional development, and team meetings.
• Coordinate with faculty and PIs to develop implementation strategies for statewide programs and initiatives. Assist with development of program policies and procedures. Ensure that internal communication platforms are kept up-to-date and are accessible by all who participate in grants.
• Identify issues and opportunities to develop local foods/school and nutrition key stakeholders and partners.
• Provide technical assistance to implement food systems, PSE, and nutrition strategies. Assist faculty to analyze program/fiscal data, assemble reports and make recommendations to increase program impact.
• Assist with fiscal reporting and reconciliation, providing fiscal reports/projections, and work with Extension fiscal to ensure all spending follows university policy.
• Other duties as assigned.

As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities may be expected in order to support the mission and purpose of MU Extension.

LEADERSHIP RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Supervision will be received from the Family Nutrition Education Program Administrative Director. May mentor (or supervise as needed) others in completing program/project duties.

Shift

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

• Program and project administration experience.
• Three-to-five years of applicable experience is desired demonstrating an understanding of healthy food production, preparation, and storage.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software (especially Excel).
• Analytical skills and demonstrated organizational skills.
• Professional and friendly demeanor with a demonstrated ability to work well with a variety of individuals while maintaining confidential information/situations.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to travel and to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends is required to fulfill assigned responsibilities.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $55,000- $62,000 annual

Grade: GGS-010
