Food Warehouse Associate-1st Shift

Nesco Resource is seeking Food Warehouse Associates for one of our Produce Clients in Romulus, MI.

Ideal candidates will have food production experience within a manufacturing environment, can follow GMPs, and are comfortable in a refrigerated workplace!

Shift:1st 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, includes 30-minute unpaid lunch
Pay: 16/hr, with a raise upon being hired in!

Job Duties:

• Visually inspect fresh vegetables and score them according to level of ripeness, size, and classification.
• Package items according to customer specifications
• Inspect items for contamination, including pests and other foreign objects
• Report any issues/contamination factors to supervisor
• Handle all produce and products appropriately to prevent any damage or bruising
• Ensure all quality, food safety and packing standards are met per company guidelines
• Communicate frequently with Production Supervisor, report quality issues, damage, shortages of product or packaging
• Perform cleaning and sanitization of all contact surfaces and machines for food in the production area
• Maintain a clean work area throughout shift
• Comply with SOPs, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Food Safety, Health and Safety, and company policies and procedures

• 1+ years of food manufacturing experience required
• Can follow GMPs(Good Manufacturing Practices)
• Ability to work in cold temperatures for the duration of the shift
• Ability to lift 50lbs
