    Overview:

    Orthopaedic Advanced Practice Provider – Foot and Ankle

    Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center – Lebanon, NH

     

    Dartmouth Health’s Department of Orthopaedics is currently seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Associate or Nurse Practitioner) to work at our academic medical center in Lebanon, NH. You will play a key role in delivering comprehensive musculoskeletal care, with a primary focus on foot and ankle. In this collaborative environment, you’ll work alongside physicians, APPs, residents, and clinical support staff to manage both acute and chronic orthopedic conditions. This role offers a unique blend of operative and non-operative responsibilities, providing opportunities to evaluate patients in clinic, perform procedures, and assist in surgeries, while supporting coordinated, patient-centered care across the full spectrum of orthopedic services.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide comprehensive musculoskeletal care, including patient evaluation, imaging, treatment planning, and documentation.
    • Coordinate referrals and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care.
    • Manage patient communications, including calls, prescription refills, results, and urgent triage.
    • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as injections, aspirations, splinting, casting, bracing, minor outpatient procedures, and wound care.
    • Assist attending physicians with operative care and surgical management.
    • Maintain clinical volumes aligned with departmental needs, which may include outreach at our satellite locations.
    • Participate in peer-to-peer reviews for insurance coverage and support administrative requirements.
    • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and educational opportunities, including mentoring APPs, students, and peers.
    • Cover day call on a rotational basis.

    Requirements:

    • BLS certification
    • Current (or eligible) certification to practice as a PA or APRN in NH
    • Successful completion of an approved PA/APRN program
    • National specialty certification as RNFA or certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
