CORE JOB SUMMARY
The Sports Nutrition Coordinator assumes leadership and responsibility for the planning, development, implementation, evaluation and management of the clinical nutrition services provided to student-athletes representing all Intercollegiate Athletic teams. Provide nutrition assessment (dietary and anthropometric), develop nutrition care plans, and provide individual nutrition medical therapy as part of a multidisciplinary sports medical team.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Collaborates with Sports Medicine Staff regarding individual athlete care and health related department programs.
Provides innovative oral and written nutrition education.
Evaluates nutritional trends and supplement products.
Acts as the primary nutrition resource for Sports Medicine and Medical Staff as well as other Athletic Department personnel.
Maintains professional competency and skills required for professional practice.
Obtains body composition measurements and interpretation of the measurement to athletes.
Creates dietary plans for athletes.
Analyzes dietary supplements marketed to athletes, coaches and staff.
Provides medical nutrition therapy for individual patients with a spectrum of nutrition concern.
Documents nutrition services provided and evaluates the effectiveness of nutrition strategies towards meeting desired outcomes using the Nutrition Care Process.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field required
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required
