Foreign Language Role Player (Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, Korean)

Position overview

Responsibilities

• Portray foreign-national characters in live training scenarios, speaking in your assigned language and following the scenario script precisely.
• Interact with trainees directly and through interpreters, sustaining realistic conversation throughout the scenario.
• Wear culturally appropriate clothing and headgear, along with required protective equipment.
• Take part in scenarios involving restraint, searches, and engagement with non-lethal marking ammunition while wearing protective gear.
• When directed and after safety instruction from military staff, fire training weapons loaded with blank or marking ammunition.
• Follow all range safety instructions and direction from the Lead Role Player and military safety personnel.

Required qualifications

• Speaking proficiency in Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, or Korean at Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) Level 2 or equivalent. At that level you can handle everyday social conversation, discuss work, family, and current events, and be understood despite an accent.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a background check and high-risk training suitability screening.
• Basic familiarity with weapons handling and safety.
• For cleared positions: an active SECRET clearance, maintained throughout employment.

Physical and safety requirements

• Able to be restrained (zip-tied) for prolonged periods and to be searched by trainees while restrained.
• Able to stand and lie prone for extended periods, with and without restraints.
• Able to wear a full-face helmet, throat guard, and groin guard.
• Physically fit, with no limitations or medical conditions that would prevent work in austere outdoor environments and during hours of darkness.
