JOB PURPOSE General Foreman, Gas Inspector Contracted Services will train, direct andsupervise employees and contracted employees engaged in the task ofconducting Gas Leak surveys, the construction and maintenance of Gas line andElectric Underground utilities, concrete and asphalt paving, landscaping repair,large diameter directional drilling, ROW mowing and clearing. ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS: Train, direct, and supervise employees within area of responsibilityhaving the authority to appraise performance, discipline, handle grievances andother managerial functions. Schedule, assign and coordinate the inspection ofcontracted services and rights-of-way; and/or gas construction and maintenance.Responsible for the operation of assigned section; and safe work practices ofcontracted crews and MLGW crews. Prepare and/or review necessary paperworksuch as time and mileage, maintenance tickets, performance appraisals,damage claims, requisitions, truck inventory records, etc. Supervise the properoperation/utilization of machinery, equipment, materials and tools in theinstallation/maintenance of gas main/services, underground electric facilities,concrete and asphalt paving, landscaping repair, large diameter directionaldrilling, ROW mowing and clearing. Inspect Contractors work to ensure anadequate quantity/quality of work is achieved; provide information and instructionto employees/contractors. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings,block maps, grade stakes, GPS locations, etc. Determine undergroundinterference and location of services by checking records, maps and files.contact appropriate personnel to locate underground interferences as necessary.Obtain clearances for operating gas valves; investigate customer calls/complaints; work with claims representative in resolving issues. Operate Divisionvehicle/radio, computer hardware/software applications and office equipment.Perform other duties as directed.M
