Foreman - Auger Foundations & Heavy Civil ConstructionCharlotte / Sarasota County, FLContinental Heavy Civil Corp is seeking an experienced Foreman to oversee heavy civil construction projects in the Sarasota, FL area, with a strong emphasis on auger foundation operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with the ability to lead field operations, coordinate crews, and solve both routine and complex construction challenges while ensuring projects remain on schedule. This position is based locally in the Collier County, FL area.
Basic Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications.
Manage and supervise auger foundation work, including drilled shafts, auger cast piles, and other deep foundation operations.
Coordinate daily activities of field personnel, equipment operators, and suppliers.
Assess labor and equipment requirements and communicate staffing needs to the Project Manager.
Provide technical guidance by recommending construction methods, sequencing, and equipment to maximize productivity and minimize delays.
Monitor production, quality control, and compliance with project specifications during auger foundation installation.
Ensure all onsite personnel follow company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
Maintain accurate daily reports documenting manpower, equipment, production, weather conditions, and project progress.
Identify and proactively resolve field issues to maintain project schedules and quality standards.
Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in heavy civil construction.
Experience managing auger foundation work, including drilled shafts, auger cast piles, or similar deep foundation systems, is strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of heavy equipment, construction sequencing, and field operations. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and project schedules. Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations and their application to construction projects. Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and supervisory skills. Must be able to work outdoors on various terrain in a wide range of weather conditions. FDOT experience is preferred.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather and marine conditions. Approximately 60% field work and 40% office/computer-based work. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis. Ability to work near or over water while utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to perform work requiring close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception. Willingness to travel to project sites throughout Florida and work overtime as project schedules require.
