Express Employment Professionals are recruiting for a Foreman/Crew Lead near Eau Claire, WI!

Position: Foreman/Crew Lead
| Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Crew Lead to oversee construction projects and lead onsite crews for a company in the Eau Claire/Chippewa area. This position is ideal for someone with strong leadership abilities, hands-on construction experience, and the ability to keep projects running safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

The Crew Lead serves as the primary onsite contact for construction operations and is responsible for supervising laborers, coordinating project activities, maintaining safety compliance, and ensuring all work is completed according to engineering and manufacturer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead onsite construction crews, subcontractors, and daily project activities
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications
  • Conduct onsite safety meetings and enforce all company and regulatory safety standards
  • Coordinate materials, labor, inspections, subcontractors, and project timelines
  • Communicate professionally with customers, subcontractors, and management throughout projects
  • Complete project layouts, advanced installation duties, and required documentation
  • Maintain daily progress reports and provide regular project updates to management
  • Identify utility locations and maintain safe excavation practices
  • Operate construction equipment and tools including:
    • Skid loaders
    • Forklifts
    • Air compressors
    • Power tools
    • Other construction-related equipment
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a construction-related field
  • Previous experience leading, supervising, or training construction crews
  • Valid CDL required
  • Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company insurability requirements
  • Ability to safely operate construction equipment and perform manual labor tasks
  • Ability to read and follow project specifications, layouts, and safety requirements
  • Strong understanding of construction site safety and compliance procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently while also leading a team effectively
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Must be willing and able to travel out of town and stay overnight as needed
Physical Requirements & Work Environment

This is a physically demanding, hands-on position that requires:
  • Standing and walking for extended periods
  • Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs and occasional lifting up to 100 lbs
  • Working outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, humidity, rain, and cold
  • Frequent use of hands, arms, and tools/equipment
  • Ability to work in moderate to high noise environments
  • Strong close-distance and color vision abilities
