Job Overview:
This role provides hands-on construction duties like basement demolition, hauling debris up and down stairs, digging trenches, and assisting with installing waterproofing and basement system solutions:
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs pre-trip inspection on company truck prior to use
- Loads materials, tools, and equipment on the company truck safely for each job assigned for the day
- Travels to the customer's home to work and install the job
- Performs jobsite preparation duties: Preps the jobsite by protecting customer's belongings with wraps/tarps or other means: walkways into the home, stairs, furnace, water heater, washer and dryer, water softener, and any personal belongings.
- Maintains a professional presence on the jobsite including apparel, language, conversation topics, hygiene, and music.
- Performs trenching duties: Digs trenches for water flow to ensure a slope for proper drainage. Digs trenches deep and wide enough for the drainage system. Removes debris, maintains the slope, and performs flood test on the trench.
- Utilizes safe lifting practices by bending at the knees, not the waist, to lift buckets and materials. Keeps the load close to the body and avoids twisting. Uses legs to lift...not the back. Always asks for help if the object is too heavy.
- Performs exterior discharge duties: Lays out pipe for exterior discharge, identifies obstacles before digging. Sods, digs, and assembles discharge ensuring proper pitch and dry well for discharge. Covers pipe and replaces sod.
- Performs stone loading duties safely: Uses proper lifting techniques and safety gear. Loads buckets evenly with a shovel. Unloads barrels of stone from the box truck. Loads stones out of a dumpster. Cleans up loading area.
- Performs mixing concrete duties: Prepares the driveway, sets up mixer, stages bags at the back of the truck, mixes concrete at an acceptable pace and consistency. Always wears protective gear (i.e., dust mask, eye protection)
- Installs each job using company-approved and quality-driven methods. This is a hands-on construction role.
- Performs hands-on labor including but not limited to basement demolition, hauling/removing debris from up and down stairs, digging trenches inside and outside the home to access foundations, working in low-hanging ceiling environments such as crawlspaces, etc.
- Performs each job at a pace to ensure efficiency and quality
