Role Description:
The Foreman, Industrial Mechanical - NCDL is responsible for exercising technical and administrative supervision over the work activities of employees engaged in testing, troubleshooting, corrective, predictive and preventive maintenance, fabricating, installing, modifying, and responding to a variety of complex mechanical equipment and system issues. Responsible for the quantity and quality of the work done, and for assuring efficient and economical work operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises employees; makes work assignments, set priorities, interprets work orders, etc. Establishes work performance standards, prepares written performance evaluations, and monitors employee code of conduct; recommends promotions, terminations, reassignments, disciplinary and other personnel actions. Determines training needs and approves and schedules leave. Ensures that workers complete projects or assignments in a thorough and responsible manner.
Key Working Relationships: Interacts with internal and external customers to the department and throughout the Authority including contractors, and consultants.

Required Experience:
Four (4) years of recent and relevant progressive experience directly associated with installing, repairing and maintaining mechanical components, equipment and systems as a Mechanic at an Industrial Process, Water or Wastewater Facility.
Minimum Education Requirements:High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate and five years or an Associate''s Degree in Industrial Mechanics.Required Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic principles related to complex multi-component assembles and devices. Demonstrated ability to use a wide variety tools and equipment to diagnose and correct equipment and system problems.Ability to operate a variety of lifting equipment.Must have knowledge of pertinent guidelines, rules and regulations related to electrical safety and OSHA.
Knowledge and skill in reading and interpreting drawings, schematics and blueprints.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills and abilities.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
Intermediate skills utilizing standard office management systems, including computers, scanners, copiers and software for word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations, project management, and internet-based software applications.
Required Licenses & Certifications: Must possess and maintain current a valid Motor Vehicle Operating License.Must possess and maintain current the Authority''s certification as a Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester.Must obtain Authority sponsored Safety Trained Supervisor Certification.Physical Requirements: May work indoors and/or outdoors. Environmental conditions include exposure to extreme cold and/or hot temperatures.May work in areas of noise, vibration, near moving mechanical parts, risk of electric shock, and a variety of hazards.May work in atmospheric conditions of fumes, odors, gusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation, exposure to oils, exposure to industry related chemicals and fluids.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Moderate walking.Frequently sitting and standing.
