Foreman/Lead Machine Operator
We are seeking experienced machine operators in Twinsburg, OH, for a leadership role with a specialty machine building company. This position is ideal for someone with industrial machining background who is ready to step into a supervisory and hands-on role.

Hours: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday
Pay: $24.00 - $32.00/hour, based on skills and supervisory experience
Key Responsibilities
Provide daily leadership for a team of 1216 machine operators, including assigning work and supporting training
Oversee machine setups, changeovers, and troubleshooting to minimize production downtime
Communicate job priorities, issues, and progress to management
Set up and operate manual production machines to produce precision metal parts, fixtures, and tools
Interpret blueprints, sketches, or samples to determine machining approaches
Monitor and adjust feeds and speeds to maintain tolerances and surface finish
Perform machining operations such as turning, milling, drilling, shaping, grinding, and machining to exact specifications
Conduct inspection and precision measurements using tools like micrometers, feeler gauges, and dial indicators
Calculate dimensions and verify parts meet print requirements
Ensure all surfaces are deburred and conform to specifications
Support preventative maintenance to keep equipment ready and running smoothly
Promote safe work practices and maintain organized work areas with a 5S mindset
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or GED
Experience with manual precision machining or grinding in a manufacturing environment
Ability to read and use precision measuring tools (micrometers, indicators, gauges)
Ability to perform calculations and support machine calibration
Familiarity with Blanchard and Surface grinding processes
Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working hands-on with machinery
Nice to Have Skills
Leadership or supervisory experience (not required but a plus)
Mentoring or training experience with machine operators
Background in specialty machine building or tight-tolerance work
Knowledge of the difference between flatness and parallel in machining
Preferred Education and Experience
Prior experience operating manual machines and supporting setups
Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, understanding of basic troubleshooting techniques
Other Requirements
Ability to occasionally run machinery as needed
Willingness to gradually transition into a supervisory role, developing relationships with team members
Must be prepared to work in an on-site environment with shop obstacles such as pits and catwalks
Ability to bring a level-headed approach and control emotions in a demanding setting
