Successful completion of a US Department of Labor registered apprenticeship training program as an Operating Engineer - Heavy Equipment Technician and journeyman status, plus four (4) years of journey-level experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy vehicle and off-road equipment, OR
Should the above criteria not be fulfilled, the following options are available:
Eight (8) years of journey-level work experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy-duty/off-road equipment and the diagnoses and repair of electronic fuel injection systems OR
Successful completion of an industry or company sponsored apprenticeship training program as an Operating/Hoisting Engineer, plus six (6) years of journey-level experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy vehicle and off-road equipment
A commercial driver's license (CDL) as issued by the State of Illinois is required

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS
This position requires applicants to complete an interview. Candidates may be required to complete a supervisory assessment. Test results will be sent out by the Department of Human Resources after test results have been analyzed and compiled. The interviewed candidate(s) receiving a passing score on the test and possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position will be selected.
