    THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Two years of progressively responsible experience in operating automotive equipment. A valid State of Illinois Class "A" or "B" Commercial Driver's License is required.

    NOTE: You must provide your valid State of Illinois Commercial Driver's License (CDL) at time of processing.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. occasionally. Ability to operate automotive equipment safely and according to law.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • May be exposed to noise or dust and unfavorable atmospheric conditions or extreme temperatures.

    EQUIPMENT

    • Various automotive and power equipment.

    SELECTION REQUIREMENTS: This position requires candidates to pass both a written job knowledge exam and a supervisory skills assessment. Test results will be sent out by the Department of Human Resources after test results have been analyzed and compiled. Candidates who successfully pass all exam components and evaluation will be hired in accordance with the CBA.

    If you currently hold the title of Foreman of Motor Truck Driver (FMTD) and would like to bid for an opportunity to change departments, you must fill out an application. Current FMTDs who have successfully submitted an application DO NOT have to complete the written job knowledge exam and the supervisory assessment portion of the hiring process in order to move forward.

Department of Human Resource staff will review applications after the final posting date.
