Job Title:Foreman Department:Field Job Description Summary The Foreman is responsible for the day-to-day operations of all concrete contracts. This is a safety sensitive position. Reporting Relationships The Foreman reports to the Superintendent or Project Manager. The following positions report to the Foreman: Lead man, Form Setters (Carpenters), Finishers, Laborers Authority The Foreman has the authority to recommend employee hiring, terminations, and merit increases. The Foreman is responsible to train, supervise and discipline any person directly reporting to him/her. The Foreman is also responsible to ensure that job sites, employees and all related materials or equipment comply as is appropriate to OSHA regulations and Tedesco Pacific company safety standards. Requirements: Experience A minimum of 10 years Foreman experience in the field of concrete construction or equivalent. Must be bilingual English and Spanish. Skill, Knowledge and Abilities Using analytical and observation skills, demonstrate the ability to set a course or direction, which fulfills the vision and expectations as designed. Possess the ability to read blueprints, be able to drive a vehicle and operate hand power tools. Possess a good understanding of OSHA regulations and company safety standards. Physical: Body Positions Long periods of time bending, standing and/or sitting. Body Movements Ability to walk, climb, stoop, kneel or crawl over uneven ground, carry one hundred (100) pounds, operate vibrating/hopping equipment such as a Wacker, roto hammer, etc. use of hands, eyes, ears, arms and voice. Body Senses Ability to obtain information, listening, talking, seeing. Mental Requires general business math skills. Language requirements are reading, writing, spelling and the ability to communicate clearly in English. Working Conditions Primarily outdoor activity during all seasons, some office environment. Environment also includes driving and frequent work around motor vehicles, moving equipment and vibrating equipment. Essential Functions The basic function of the Foreman is to provide the necessary planning, organization, direction, coordination, safety management, and control to meet the schedule and budget for all assigned concrete contracts. The Foreman must provide expertise by training and assisting employees who report to him/her in the preparation and/or installation of all assigned concrete contracts. The Foreman should also provide ongoing support and expertise to management, assisting them in establishing goals, objectives, policies and procedures for the improvement of the company.
