Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of welders, fabricators, and fitters
Interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols to plan and assign work
Ensure all welding meets AWS, ASME, or project-specific code requirements
Perform and oversee MIG, TIG, and SMAW welding operations as needed
Monitor productivity, workflow, and job progress to meet deadlines
Conduct quality inspections of welds and finished assemblies
Enforce OSHA and company safety standards at all times
Train, mentor, and evaluate welding personnel
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and shop supervisors
Maintain welding equipment, tools, and consumables inventory
Assist with scheduling manpower and materials
Qualifications:
5+ years of welding experience, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred
Strong proficiency in MIG, TIG, and SMAW welding processes
Extensive blueprint reading and layout experience
Knowledge of welding codes and structural steel standards
Ability to manage crews and maintain high productivity
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
OSHA certification preferred
Forklift and/or equipment operation experience a plus
Work Environment:
Shop and/or field environment
Exposure to heat, noise, heavy equipment, and lifting requirements
May require overtime and occasional weekend work
