Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise crews and subcontractors during underground construction projects.
  • Coordinate daily activities, including planning hole paths, selecting drill bits, and managing equipment logistics.
  • Operate or oversee operation of drill rigs, including mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Conduct pre-shift inspections and safety meetings; ensure compliance with all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Monitor performance, adjust parameters as needed, and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of progress, materials used, and crew activity.
  • Communicate regularly with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of fluids and materials.
  • Assist with training and mentoring crew.
  • Enforce company policies, OSHA/MSHA regulations, and site-specific rules.

 Qualifications:

  •  High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
  • Experience in electrical work
  • Experience with underground and aboveground utility installation.
  • Proven leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of job safety analysis (JSA), hazard assessments, and related safety documentation.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including confined spaces and varying weather.

Working Conditions:

  • Majority of work is performed on active construction sites.
  • May involve long hours, night shifts, and weekend work depending on project demands.
  • Must be able to work in underground environments, including confined or low-light areas.

Licenses/Certifications (Preferred or Required):

  • OSHA 30 or MSHA Certification
  • Valid Driver’s License (CDL may be preferred depending on equipment use)
  • First Aid/CPR
