Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. One year of experience in forensic pathology and autopsy procedures is required; or Completion of vocational or technical coursework to include 3 semester credits in Health Science or Mortuary Science are required.

The Forensic Autopsy Technician position plays an active role in assisting pathologists with external and internal examinations of human remains. This position is involved in performing eviscerations; collecting and labeling toxicology specimens; fingerprinting and diagramming decedents; x-raying decedents; collecting, logging, and releasing property and evidence following proper chain of custody practice; cleaning instruments and the autopsy room; and re-stocking supplies. This position also involves standing for long periods of time, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering decedents.
