JOB DETAILS

Department: Hennepin Assault Response Team - HART

FTE: Casual, Non-benefit earning

Shift(s): Days, as needed

Location: In-Person

Current schedule will generally be 8 am - 4:30 pm with some flexibility depending on contracted training. Potential for up to 0.3 FTE of work per pay period but no guaranteed hours

Purpose of this position: The Forensic Examiner Training Specialist plays a crucial role on the Hennepin Assault Response Team's (HART) Train to Retain: Forensic Nurse Education program by enhancing the skills and knowledge of forensic nursing professionals through education. By providing expert training and support, they ensure that forensic examiners are well-equipped to deliver high-quality medical forensic services. This role involves developing and delivering educational programs, supporting continuous improvement in forensic practices, and fostering a supportive learning environment for all trainees.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in on-going project monitoring, quality improvement projects, and problem-solving
• Review established training curricula and collaborate on educational improvement and enhancement efforts
• Participate in forensic examiner training activities as an instructor, including both local and non local
• Travel regularly to contracted training activities
• Collaborate on the development of new forensic examiner training activities and curriculum
• Provide technical assistance to forensic examiner trainees

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must currently be employed as a forensic nurse examiner or SANE
• Certification/License Required: Must be a licensed RN. SANE-A or SANE-P
• Must have a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record including no more than two moving violations in the past three years of licensure and availability of an insured vehicle is required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Both SANE-A and SANE-P

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:

• Knowledge of nursing education practices
• Knowledgeable about the SANE Education process, from starting from the beginning with didactic training, culminating in certification
• Strong knowledge of general forensic nursing practice, best-practices, and ability to teach others on said practices
