    Company Description The Children’s Advocacy Center of the Coastal Bend is dedicated to reducing trauma for children and families affected by abuse by coordinating the efforts of public agencies and engaging the wider community.     Role Description The Forensic Interviewer is a full-time, on-site role based in Portland, TX. This position conducts developmentally appropriate, legally sound, and trauma-informed forensic interviews of children and youth who may have experienced abuse or witnessed violent crimes.

    Qualifications

    • Strong interviewing, active listening, and observational skills, with the ability to engage children and youth in a developmentally appropriate and trauma-informed manner.
    • \n
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary partners, including law enforcement, child protective services, prosecutors, medical professionals, and mental health providers.
    • \n
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including accurate documentation, report writing, and clear case presentation in meetings or court settings.
    • \n
    • Knowledge of child development, child abuse dynamics, and trauma-informed practices, or willingness to obtain specialized training in these areas.
    • \n
    • High level of professionalism, discretion, and ethical judgment, with strict adherence to confidentiality and organizational policies.
    • \n
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and maintain detailed records.
    • \n
    • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, counseling, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
    • \n
    • Prior experience working with children affected by trauma, abuse, or neglect, or in a forensic, advocacy, or investigative setting is preferred.
    • \n
    • Commitment to the mission of the Children’s Advocacy Center of the Coastal Bend and to providing non-discriminatory, culturally responsive services to diverse communities.
