The Crusher Shop Foreperson plays a critical role in ensuring the timely repair and maintenance of fixed plant equipment, to keep operations running smoothly. This position oversees the Roaring Spring Electric/Crusher shop technicians, promptly reacting to equipment breakdowns and leading proactive measures to prevent equipment failures through a robust preventative maintenance program. The role is essential to maximizing equipment uptime, life cycles, and ensuring continuous operational support.
Foreperson - Crusher Shop - What Will You Do?
Support materials and construction operations through safe, thorough, and efficient maintenance of fixed plant equipment (AGG, HMA, RMC).
• Schedule technicians, coordinate resources, and prioritize repair tasks to address critical needs and maximize equipment uptime. • Coordinate repair schedules and equipment exchanges with operational leaders. • Ensure internal customers are apprised of repair schedules or anticipated repair time and costs in a timely manner.
Oversee the diagnosis of equipment repairs and review work order histories to identify trends and track total lifecycle costs.
• Lead the parts team(s) and oversee the sourcing process. This includes efficiently sourcing parts for urgent repairs as well as maintaining a cost-efficient warehouse of standard parts. • Actively lead a culture of safety within the workgroup and enforce all safety policies and procedures. This includes conducting job hazard analyses, risk assessments, and daily safety briefings. • Implement and monitor preventative maintenance programs. • Apply Root Cause Analysis to failures, communicate findings, and implement preventative measures for continuous improvement. • Work with operations to identify and resolve operational techniques that may damage equipment and lead to increased repair costs. • Ensure adherence to a strong 5S program throughout all shop areas. • Verify, create and approve work orders to ensure prompt submittal, accurate coding, and clear tracking.
Provide leadership and guidance to Shop Foreman, technicians and other coworkers, supporting their professional development and addressing escalated issues.
• Manage the workforce throughout the coworker lifecycle, including recruitment, hiring, training, positional changes, layoffs, and termination. • Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
Requirements - Who Are We Looking For?
• Associate's degree in electrical technology, engineering, equipment maintenance or similar degree program is preferred. • High school diploma or equivalent is required. • 5+ years of equipment maintenance experience required. • Experience with industrial electrical, mechanical, and crushing equipment preferred. • Proven leadership with 1-2 years of managerial experience. • Capable of reading and interpreting hydraulic and electrical schematics. • Must have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. • Must possess strong attention to detail, good organizational skills with the ability to ensure accurate work. • Ability to work independently but as part of a team concept. • Flexibility and the ability to operate under stressful, time-sensitive deadlines. • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS or related database systems. • Valid Driver's license and compliant with NESL driving standards required.
