We are seeking a Foreperson, Facilities System Maintenance. This position is responsible for providing facility systems training and guidance for the Metro Transit Facilities Maintenance personnel. To ensure the equipment and systems are maintained, and installed, for safe, efficient and continuous operation of all Metro Transit facilities and stations. To serve as the essential link of communication between vendors, management, engineers, operations, and the workforce.

Any of the following combinations of experience Facility Maintenance experience of which at least 5 years of work experience to include related Facility Systems Maintenance experience, i.e., maintaining BAS and system network integration and complete education in Building Maintenance Technology or a related field.
High school diploma or GED AND at least 7 years of Facility Maintenance experience.
Associate's degree in building maintenance technology or related field.
License Requirements:
Level 1 or 2 Building Operator Certification.
Valid drivers license and good driving record.
Successful completion of Niagra 4 Certification within 6 months of hiring.
Desired Qualifications:
State of Minnesota Chief Engineers Grade C Boiler Operator License is desired.
Previous technical leadership experience.
Ability to be a serve as a resource to Facilities Technician and others relative to BAS (Building Automation Systems).
Current with market automations and facility upgrades.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Verifiable knowledge and experience with building maintenance and repair practices and procedures.
Verifiable knowledge and experience with various mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC controls and systems.
Thorough knowledge of Public Facilities maintenance operations and safety, including FRA and BNSF requirements.
Knowledge of care and supervision in the use of strong chemicals.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively communicate in English and write routine reports and correspondence.
Verifiable leadership and/or supervisory experience, with proven ability to coordinate and schedule activities, troubleshoot problems, work independently, and train staff.

Work Environment:
Work is performed in a maintenance garage setting. This position may require working in wet or hot, humid non-weather conditions, and in high precarious places. This position may also require working in outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold, risk of electrical shock and work with explosives.
Physical Requirements:
This position may require standing, walking, talking or hearing using hands to finger, handle or feeling and reaching with hands and arms, lifting up to fifty (50) pounds. May work near moving parts or equipment, in the presence of fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibrations. May also be required to lift more than 100 pounds with assistance.
