Forestry Specialist
Open Contract Palangkaraya, Kalimantan Tengah
Support the overall project implementation and execution of activities. Assist in field data collection plans and supervise validation of forest, land use, and biomass data. Support tracking of project activities, resources, and schedules across multiple field levels. Monitor and evaluate project impact, including carbon sequestration and ecosystem performance. Ensure compliance with national and international regulations related to forestry and carbon, including VCM standards (Verra, Gold Standard, etc.). Support Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) processes by collecting, validating, and organizing field data for certification purposes. Coordinate with stakeholders, including local communities, regulators, certification bodies, and partners. Provide technical support and mentorship to junior team members and field staff. Collaborate with internal teams (social, GIS, finance, legal, etc.) to ensure integrated project execution. Prepare reports, documentation, and technical inputs to support project success and continuous improvement. Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are followed during field activities. Perform other relevant tasks as assigned by the line manager. Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in forestry or carbon project development.
- Familiarity with carbon standards (e.g., Verra, Gold Standard) and MRV processes.
- Good field coordination, organizational, and basic project support skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Willingness to travel to remote project areas as needed.
