Forklift Driver – Frozen Department
The Forklift Driver in the Frozen Department is responsible for operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment to safely and efficiently move, load, unload, and stack materials in a frozen storage environment. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work in cold temperatures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other equipment in a safe and effective manner.
- Load and unload trailers with frozen goods.
- Move pallets to and from designated areas within the frozen department.
- Perform inventory checks and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Ensure product integrity and quality standards are maintained.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, especially for cold storage.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the freezer area.
- Conduct daily equipment checks and report any maintenance issues.
- Work closely with warehouse team members and supervisors to meet operational goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid forklift certification required.
- 1+ years of experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or distribution center.
- Experience working in cold/frozen environments is highly preferred.
- Ability to work in temperatures as low as -10°F (-23°C) for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly.
- Comfortable working in cold/frozen environments.
- Standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the shift.
