FORKLIFT OPERATOR

Position Summary

Premium Waters, Inc. is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Forklift Operator to join our Warehouse team at the Byram facility. The Forklift Operator is responsible for receiving incoming materials, moving finished products and supplies throughout the facility, preparing products for shipment, and safely loading and unloading trucks.

This position requires the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse and manufacturing environment while consistently following all safety, quality, food safety, and operational procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous forklift operating experience required.
  • Current forklift certification preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Ability to understand bills of lading, pallet tags, lot numbers, and other shipping documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to safety, accuracy, and product quality.

Primary Responsibilities

The Forklift Operator will be responsible for receiving incoming goods, preparing finished products for shipment, loading and unloading trucks, moving pallets from production palletizers, relocating materials, and completing other warehouse duties as assigned.

Essential Job Duties

  • Safely operate a forklift and other approved material-handling equipment.
  • Unload trucks and inspect incoming goods for damage, shortages, or other discrepancies.
  • Sign for incoming goods and accurately document any identified discrepancies.
  • Review bills of lading, shipping documents, and work instructions to determine products and quantities to be shipped.
  • Stage products and supplies before trucks arrive.
  • Restack damaged, leaning, or partial pallets as needed.
  • Load trucks safely and accurately using a forklift or by hand when necessary.
  • Move finished-product pallets from production palletizers to designated warehouse locations.
  • Relocate raw materials, finished products, packaging materials, and other supplies as requested.
  • Follow proper pallet-tagging, lot-number recording, inventory-control, and product-rotation procedures.
  • Maintain accurate product counts and notify appropriate personnel of discrepancies.
  • Inspect the forklift before use and immediately report mechanical or safety concerns.
  • Keep warehouse aisles, loading areas, dock areas, and storage locations clean and organized.
  • Communicate effectively with shipping personnel, production employees, supervisors, and management regarding product information, delays, damages, and operational concerns.
  • Follow all traffic patterns, speed limits, pedestrian-safety requirements, and loading-dock procedures.
  • Work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Follow all company policies, safety rules, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.

Additional Duties

  • Perform related work and other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager or designated supervisor.
  • Assist in other warehouse or plant areas when business needs require.
  • In the employee’s absence, the direct manager or an appointed employee will assume the position’s responsibilities.
