Forklift Driver
Our client, a major seafood processing company is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Forklift Driver for our Cape May, NJ facility to operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment. The Forklift Driver will be responsible for loading, unloading, moving, and storing materials efficiently while following all safety guidelines and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, racks, and shelves.
- Transport goods to designated areas within the warehouse or facility.
- Inspect forklifts before and after use and report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory movement records when required.
- Ensure materials are handled carefully to prevent damage.
- Follow all workplace safety rules and regulations.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification (or the ability to obtain).
- Previous experience as a forklift driver or in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and awareness of surroundings.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures (freezer, cooler, or dry warehouse, if applicable).
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
