Forklift Operator

Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Forklift Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and material-handling equipment, loading and unloading products, managing inventory movement, and supporting warehouse operations to ensure production and shipping schedules are met. This position requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Load and unload materials, products, and shipments according to inbound and outbound schedules.
  • Accurately pick, pack, inspect, and stage products for shipment.
  • Move pallets, crates, and materials throughout the warehouse and storage areas.
  • Stack and store inventory in designated locations while following inventory control procedures.
  • Assist in operating packing and production equipment as needed.
  • Maintain accurate production, inventory, and shipping records.
  • Complete required forms, documentation, and inventory transactions.
  • Inspect forklifts and equipment daily and report maintenance or repair needs.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Report safety hazards, production concerns, and quality issues immediately.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to improve processes and workflow.
  • Cross-train in other warehouse functions and assist with additional duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of warehouse, forklift, or related experience.
  • Basic computer skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and work ethic.
  • Ability to take direction from multiple supervisors.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
Preferred
  • RF Scanner experience.
  • OSHA forklift certification.
  • Previous forklift operating experience.
  • Spanish language skills (required in some locations).
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Ability to use hands for handling materials and operating equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must possess close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regular communication with team members and supervisors is required.
Work Environment
  • Fast-paced warehouse and distribution environment.
  • Exposure to moving machinery, forklifts, and warehouse traffic.
  • Must follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
