Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Drum Sander Operator to join our production team. The ideal candidate will operate and maintain drum sanding equipment used to smooth and finish wood surfaces. This position requires precision, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to quality and safety standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate drum sanders to sand and smooth wood components to specified finish levels.

• Select appropriate sanding materials and adjust machine settings based on job requirements.

• Inspect raw and finished parts to ensure they meet quality and dimension specifications.

• Monitor equipment performance, make routine adjustments, and report malfunctions or maintenance needs.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

• Keep accurate records of materials used, job completions, and any production issues.

• Collaborate with team members in related departments (e.g., cutting, assembly, finishing) to ensure product consistency and workflow efficiency.

Requirements:

• Previous experience operating drum sanders or other industrial sanding/woodworking equipment preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or production specifications.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.

• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle wood components of various sizes and weights.

• Basic math skills and the ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, rulers, and gauges.

• Understanding of safety practices in a woodshop or manufacturing environment.
