Job description:
Responsible for safely and efficiently maneuvering material handling equipment (MHE) in narrow aisles, often at heights exceeding 30 feet, while working in environments ranging from 35°F down to -45°F. This role requires high precision to stack pallets, move finished goods, and utilize radio frequency (RF) scanners to maintain accurate inventory in challenging, sub-zero conditions
Key Responsibilities
- Safe Operation: Safely operate stand-up reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, and other MHE in refrigerated and freezer environments.
- High-Bay Stacking: Place and retrieve palletized products in high-bay racking systems, often reaching heights of 30+ feet.
- Loading/Unloading: Efficiently load/unload freight from trailers, moving products to storage or staging areas, adhering to FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory methods.
- Inventory Accuracy: Use RF scanners and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to track inventory, verify lot numbers, and complete cycle counts.
- Food Safety/GMPs: Follow strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety regulations, ensuring product integrity and cleanliness in food storage areas.
- Pre-Shift Inspections: Perform required OSHA safety checks, including inspecting batteries, hydraulic lines, and tires for cold-related wear.
