*Pallet Jack maintenance experience is not enough compared to Forklift maintenance!*
A Forklift Mechanic need to support Forklift maintenance at the Northampton, MA plant.
Shift: Monday - Friday 7am-3:30pm
Job Description is below and also attached.
Candidates must have experience with electric trucks/Fork trucks.
*Plant uses Crown Forklift with some Hysters, in addition we have crown hi-los which are a detrimental part of our fleet since they are needed to keep the warehouse running*
Most of the Forklifts in use at the plant are battery /electric.
** Forklift Mechanic**
Position-Related Duties and Key Job Responsibilities
" Perform routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance on electric and internal combustion (IC) forklifts.
" Diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment including electric and LP forklifts, pallet jacks, and aerial lifts
" Ensure operational safety and minimal downtime of Lifts
" Diagnose malfunctions in hydraulic systems, electrical systems, engines, transmissions, braking systems, and mast assemblies.
" Repair or replace broken parts, including motors, pumps, valves, and cylinders.
" Inspection, maintenance and minor repairs of PIT batteries and battery changing equipment
" Conduct safety inspections and testing on equipment to ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
" Maintain accurate service records, repair logs, and work orders using computer systems.
" Order and manage service inventory.
Qualification and Additional Requirements
" High School Diploma, General Education.
" Related Trade/Technical Degree or equivalent work experience
" Minimum 3 years' experience as a forklift technician or similar heavy equipment mechanic role.
" In-depth knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
