We are seeking a skilled Forklift Mechanic responsible for maintaining and repairing material handling equipment to ensure operational safety and minimal downtime. The role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, performing preventative maintenance, and supporting warehouse equipment reliability. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical systems, with hands-on experience servicing electric and internal combustion forklifts.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine, emergency, and preventive maintenance on electric forklifts and internal combustion (IC) forklifts.
Diagnose and repair LP forklifts, pallet jacks, and aerial lifts.
Troubleshoot faults in hydraulic systems, electrical systems, engines, transmissions, braking systems, and mast assemblies.
Repair or replace defective components such as motors, pumps, valves, and cylinders.
Inspect, maintain, and perform minor repairs on PIT batteries and battery-changing equipment.
Conduct equipment safety inspections to ensure compliance with manufacturer and safety standards.
Maintain accurate service records, repair logs, and work orders using computerized maintenance systems.
Manage service parts inventory and order required components.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Trade/Technical Degree or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
Minimum 3+ years of experience as a forklift technician or heavy equipment mechanic.
Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Ability to diagnose and repair material handling equipment efficiently.
