Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a dependable Sit-Down Forklift Operator to join a medium-sized warehouse operation in Oklahoma City. This position is responsible for safely moving, loading, unloading, organizing, and staging materials throughout the facility.
This is not a forklift-only position. Because this is a team-oriented operation, candidates must be willing to step off the forklift and assist with general warehouse and production duties whenever needed.
The ideal candidate has previous sit-down forklift experience, strong safety awareness, dependable attendance, and a team-first attitude.
Required Experience & Skills
Previous sit-down forklift experience required
Ability to safely load and unload trucks and trailers
Experience moving and staging warehouse materials
Ability to organize products in designated storage areas
Strong attention to safety and material accuracy
Willingness to assist with general warehouse and production work
Ability to perform daily forklift inspections
Dependable attendance and punctuality
Reliable transportation
Ability to work independently and as part of a warehouse team
Strong work ethic and willingness to help wherever needed
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Safely operate a sit-down forklift throughout the facility
Load incoming and outgoing trucks and trailers
Unload products and materials
Move materials between warehouse and production areas
Stage products according to operational requirements
Organize materials in designated warehouse locations
Verify materials are positioned correctly
Inspect products for visible damage
Report damaged or incorrect materials to appropriate personnel
Complete daily forklift inspections before equipment operation
Report forklift maintenance or safety concerns
Assist with Shipping & Receiving activities
Support inventory and material-control responsibilities
Perform general warehouse duties when not operating the forklift
Assist with production activities as needed
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
Follow all company procedures and safety requirements
Perform additional warehouse and material-handling duties as assigned
Forklift Responsibilities
Candidates must be comfortable operating a sit-down forklift in an active warehouse environment.
Responsibilities include:
Loading trucks
Unloading trailers
Moving pallets and materials
Staging products
Organizing warehouse inventory
Transporting materials between departments
Positioning products safely in designated areas
Maintaining awareness of pedestrians and other equipment
Warehouse & Production Support
This position requires flexibility and a willingness to support the entire operation.
When forklift work is not required, associates may assist with:
Shipping and receiving
Inventory organization
Material staging
Order preparation
General material handling
Production support
Warehouse cleanup
Other hands-on duties as assigned
Candidates should be comfortable getting off the forklift and helping the team with physical warehouse work.
Equipment Inspection & Safety
Complete required daily forklift inspections
Check equipment for visible damage or operating concerns
Report maintenance issues promptly
Follow established forklift operating procedures
Maintain safe speeds and travel practices
Keep aisles and staging areas clear
Maintain awareness around employees and other equipment
Follow all required PPE and warehouse safety procedures
Preferred Qualifications
Sit-down forklift experience
Warehouse experience
Shipping and receiving experience
Manufacturing or production experience
Truck loading and unloading experience
Inventory experience
Material staging experience
General warehouse and material-handling experience
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
Ability to safely enter and exit a forklift repeatedly throughout the workday
Comfortable performing general physical warehouse and production work
Ability to safely handle products and materials
Ability to work around forklifts, trucks, trailers, and warehouse equipment
Ability to safely wear required PPE
Work Environment
Medium-sized warehouse and production environment
Regular operation of sit-down forklifts
Frequent work around trucks, trailers, pallets, inventory, and material-handling equipment
Combination of forklift operation and hands-on warehouse responsibilities
Team-oriented environment where employees are expected to assist outside their primary duties when needed
