Operate heavy machinery in a warehouse setting. Properly load, secure, unload and protect deliveries and donation, raw materials, and manufactured goods. Distinguish between labeled containers to transport to designated areas.
Role and Responsibilities
- Achieve and maintain current forklift certification.
- Operate forklift and pallet jacks within warehouse and dock area when required.
- Neatly and accurately complete required paperwork to include manifest, donation count sheets, and truck seals.
- Accurately and immediately report incidents and accidents to the supervisor.
- Perform operator-level maintenance on assigned equipment to include daily pre and post trip safety checks including but not limited to, fuel, oil, lubricants, water, antifreeze, and condition.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
- Must have adequate eyesight, hearing, and hand-eye coordination.
- Must be able to follow directions well.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to airborne particles.
