Batch Mixers/Material Handlers on 1st (7am-3: 30pm), 2nd (3: 30pm-12am) & 3rd (12am-7: 30am) shifts to join their manufacturing team at their Solon, Ohio facilities.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring ingredients are accurately prepared, mixed, transported, and delivered to packaging operations. Position Summary
The Batch Mixer/Material Handler is responsible for preparing large production batches of trail mixes and snack products by accurately measuring and combining ingredients according to established formulas. This role also involves moving ingredients and finished mixes throughout the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
The ideal candidate will possess basic math skills, attention to detail, and the ability to safely work in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Essential Responsibilities
Batch Mixing Operations
- Accurately weigh, measure, and verify ingredients according to production formulas and schedules.
- Combine nuts, dried fruits, candies, and other ingredients into mixing equipment.
- Operate industrial mixing equipment to prepare large production batches.
- Monitor mixing processes to ensure consistency and quality standards are maintained.
- Complete required production records, batch sheets, and documentation.
- Verify ingredient lot numbers and product specifications.
- Perform quality inspections of ingredients and finished mixes.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety procedures.
Material Handling & Forklift Operations
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Transport raw materials, ingredients, packaging materials, and finished products throughout the facility.
- Load and unload pallets from storage racks and production areas.
- Stage ingredients and materials for production runs.
- Replenish production lines with required materials to support continuous operations.
- Remove finished goods and transfer products to designated storage or packaging areas.
- Assist with inventory movement, organization, and stock rotation.
- Maintain accurate inventory and material movement records.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and measurement calculations.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to follow written recipes, instructions, and production procedures.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn manufacturing processes.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Previous manufacturing, material handling, warehouse, food production, or forklift experience
