We are seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team, supporting efficient materials handling and distribution operations. This role is essential for ensuring the safe and accurate movement of goods within the warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience operating various types of heavy equipment, and a commitment to safety standards. Duties:
Operate forklifts, including reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo, and pallet jacks, to load and unload materials efficiently.
Safely handle heavy lifting tasks while adhering to OSHA regulations and safety protocols.
Manage order picking processes using warehouse management systems and equipment such as pickers.
Assist with shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accurate documentation and inventory control.
Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or coordinate maintenance for forklifts and other heavy machinery.
Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing materials for storage or dispatch.
Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage solutions and improve workflow efficiency.
Maintain a clean, organized work environment in compliance with safety standards.
Experience:
Proven experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and pallet jacks within a warehouse setting.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and order picking procedures.
Previous experience in warehouse management or supervision is highly desirable.
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling.
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs or diagnostics.
Strong understanding of warehouse distribution processes including shipping & receiving.
Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and documentation accuracy.
Demonstrated ability to handle heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Prior experience in logistics roles involving order picker operations or warehouse supervision is advantageous. This position is integral to maintaining smooth warehouse operations through skilled equipment handling, safety adherence, and efficient distribution practices.
