Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. This role is essential for ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate movement of goods within our distribution center. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in heavy equipment operation, materials handling, and warehouse management systems. As a key player in our logistics operations, you will contribute to maintaining smooth warehouse distribution processes, supporting shipping and receiving functions, and upholding safety standards. Responsibilities

• Safely operate various types of forklifts including reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse.
• Perform order picking using specialized equipment such as pickers to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Assist with inventory management by organizing stock, conducting cycle counts, and updating warehouse management systems.
• Support shipping and receiving activities by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring proper documentation, and inspecting equipment for damage or maintenance needs.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to ensure optimal performance; report maintenance issues promptly.
• Handle heavy lifting tasks safely while adhering to OSHA safety standards to prevent accidents or injuries.
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage solutions and improve overall warehouse distribution workflows.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the warehouse environment to promote safety and efficiency.
• Participate in training sessions on equipment operation, safety protocols, and warehouse procedures.

Skills

• Proven experience operating forklifts such as reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory tracking and order processing.
• Familiarity with order picker operations and materials handling techniques.
• Mechanical aptitude with basic equipment repair skills to troubleshoot common issues.
• Understanding of OSHA regulations related to forklift operation and warehouse safety practices.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts, measurements, and weight assessments.
• Experience in shipping & receiving processes including documentation accuracy.
• Warehouse experience in distribution centers or similar environments is highly desirable.
• Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors effectively.
