Job Title: Forklift Operator
Location: East Durham, NY 12423
Type: Contract to possible hire
Compensation: $24.50/hr
Work Model: Onsite
12 Hour Shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM - (two days on, two days off, three days on, two days off rotation- built in OT)
Forklift Operator Responsibilities
- Responsible for receipt, administration, control, and management of inventory of raw and packaging materials.
- Operate powered industrial trucks (PITs) such as forklifts to perform all inventory moves.
- Input and manage data related to items purchased and used by the company.
- Complete daily stock transactions and supply materials to production areas.
- Ensure inventory levels and accuracy using ERP systems.
- Complete daily checklists and logbooks.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for departmental systems and processes.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulations, including site, quality, and SOPs.
- Maintain company core values by treating everyone with respect and dignity.
Forklift Operator Requirements:- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Basic math skills and reading/writing comprehension of English.
- Flexibility to work extended hours to achieve results.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
- Preferred: 1 year of experience in a high-energy, fast-paced, cGMP warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with SAP or WMS systems.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with little supervision.
- Effective oral and written communication skills at all organizational levels.
- Ability to influence others and utilize analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with PIT operation or certifications.
- Inventory control and receiving/shipping experience.
