Payrate : $21.76/hr. On W2
Duration: 12+ months
Schedule: Monday through Friday with possible OT
Shift:
- 9:00 PM 5:00 AM
- 1:00 PM 9:00 PM
Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating industrial forklifts in a fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment. This role involves loading and unloading trailers, transporting materials throughout the facility, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring products are handled safely to prevent damage.
The successful candidate will work as part of a team responsible for loading up to 25 trailers per day at a high-volume manufacturing facility in Devens, MA, or an off-site warehouse in Lunenburg, MA.
Note: Neither the manufacturing plant nor the warehouse is climate-controlled.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily forklift inspections and complete required safety checklists.
- Safely move and track materials throughout the facility.
- Maintain cleanliness and safe operating condition of equipment and work areas.
- Load and unload trucks according to customer requirements and department standards.
- Use RF scanners to process receipts, deliveries, and returns.
- Verify product counts, quantities, quality, and descriptions for all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Supply production lines with materials as requested.
- Properly palletize and stretch-wrap products.
- Complete shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain warehouse and loading dock cleanliness.
- Safely replace forklift propane tanks.
- Support other departments as needed and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Basic math skills, including decimals and fractions.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, manuals, and work documents.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Strong attendance and reliability.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and alternate shifts as needed.
Preferred:
- Previous forklift operating experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Forklift certification valid within the last 12 months (training may be provided).
- Experience using RF scanners and warehouse management systems.
- Ability to learn proprietary corrugated manufacturing software systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb stairs throughout the shift.
- Ability to drive forklifts in reverse safely and efficiently.
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing and warehouse environment.
