    Forklift Operator
    Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
    Overtime: Overtime is not required, but may be available as needed. Start times may occasionally vary, including early start times such as 5:00 AM.
    Position Summary
    The South Atlantic Companies is seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to support daily warehouse operations. This position is responsible for safely receiving, storing, moving, and shipping raw materials throughout the warehouse. The ideal candidate has experience handling industrial materials such as drums and super sacks, maintains a strong focus on safety and inventory accuracy, and performs well in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
    Essential Responsibilities
    1. Safely operate a forklift to load, unload, transport, and store raw materials throughout the warehouse.
    2. Unload inbound shipments and inspect materials for accuracy and damage.
    3. Load outbound shipments while ensuring materials are properly secured for transport.
    4. Stage materials for outgoing customer orders and scheduled shipments.
    5. Put away inventory in designated warehouse locations while maintaining an organized storage system.
    6. Handle and transport industrial raw materials, including drums, super sacks, and palletized products.
    7. Verify shipment quantities and product identification against receiving and shipping documentation.
    8. Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and maintaining inventory accuracy.
    9. Conduct daily forklift inspections and report equipment or safety concerns promptly.
    10. Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse aisles and storage areas.
    11. Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations for material handling and forklift operation.
    12. Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.
    Qualifications
    1. Previous forklift experience in a warehouse, distribution, or material handling environment required.
    2. Experience handling drums, super sacks, or other bulk industrial materials preferred.
    3. Ability to safely load, unload, stage, and store materials in warehouse racking and storage areas.
    4. Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
    5. Ability to read shipping and receiving documents.
    6. Dependable with excellent attendance and a strong work ethic.
    7. Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
    Physical Requirements
    1. Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
    2. Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb on and off forklifts throughout the workday.
    3. Safely operate powered industrial equipment for extended periods.
    4. Work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
    5. Work safely around heavy industrial materials and warehouse traffic.
