Position SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator experienced in loading/unloading heavy loads onto flatbed trailers. The ideal candidate should have strong forklift operation skills and a focus on safety. If you have a proven track record in this area, we encourage you to apply.Essential Responsibilities* Operates a forklift to move products and pallets throughout the warehouse to an area safely.* Communicate any discrepancies, product issues, or safety issues with the Supervisor.* Ensures that product is moved and scanned using a radio frequency scanner to the correct location and confirms product labels are accurate.* Maintains a clean and safe area free and clear of any debris.* Anticipates the needs of the business, keeping like products together and accessible.* Successfully passes all Novo forklift training and operates a forklift following all safety requirements established within Novo.* May place standup items into designated areas by hand as required.* Performs other duties as assigned.Basic Qualifications (Required)* Effectively perform all essential functions, including physical requirements* Ability to move awkward product lengths and weight.* Experience with operating a forklift with a rate rating of 6,500 pounds.* Use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and company-approved tools while remaining aware of hazards and maintaining a safe work environment.* Basic math, interpersonal/team, and reasoning skills* Ability to read, understand, and carry out written procedures and standard work instructions.* Must be 18 years of age or older.* Flexibility in scheduling - able to work overtime as neededPreferred Qualifications* Prior experience in distribution or manufacturing environment.* Experience operating a forklift primarily with product weights of 2500 lbs. or more.* Prior experience lifting wide loads as long as 18 feet.* Minimum one year of experience operating a forklift.* High School Diploma or GEDAbout Novo BPNovo Building Products is an industry-leading manufacturer and distributor of stair parts, mouldings, doors, specialty millwork, and a variety of board products.
