Summary:
- Location: Lunenburg, MA
- Duration: 6 Months
- Shift Timings: 5am-1pm shift or 1pm-9pm
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate industrial forklifts in a fast-paced environment.
- Track loads and unload trucks to deliver units to customers according to requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments to customers.
- Inspect forklift daily at the start of the shift, ensuring all safety features are operational and document inspection.
- Move materials throughout the facility safely and efficiently.
- Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the equipment and work area.
- Prevent damage during handling of materials shipped and warehoused.
- Load and unload trucks according to department standards and customer demands.
- Use an RF scanner for receipts of returns or deliveries.
- Verify all counts, quantities, quality, and descriptions of products and materials received, shipped, or warehoused.
- Service production lines by delivering products as requested.
- Properly palletize or stretch wrap a unit.
- Complete paperwork associated with the movement of products and materials accurately and timely.
- Maintain general cleanliness of the warehouse and loading docks.
- Safely change forklift propane tanks.
- Assist other departments as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or G.E.D.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to read and write basic English, interpret documents, and comprehend instructions.
- Basic arithmetic skills, including dealing with decimals and fractions.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Effective communication skills with employees and customers, both verbally and in writing.
- Good attendance record.
- Availability to work overtime, weekends, or other shifts.
- Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, navigate stairs, and drive in reverse throughout the shift.
Preferred Skills:
- Previous forklift experience in a high-volume, high-speed environment.
- Forklift driver certification valid within the last 12 months is preferred, but training will be provided.
- Ability to learn proprietary software programs for Corrugated Manufacturing systems.
