Forklift Operator / Material Handler - Austin, TX

Adecco is hiring experienced Forklift Operators / Material Handlers for a fast-paced warehouse operation in Austin, TX. In this role, you’ll help keep daily warehouse operations moving by safely operating powered industrial vehicles (PIV), handling materials with accuracy, and supporting inventory control—while working in an environment where safety and attention to detail matter.

Pay Rate:$21.00–$26.45/hour (based on shift and experience)

What You’ll Do

As a Forklift Operator / Material Handler, your responsibilities will include:

• Move, store, and stage materials for inbound and outbound operations using forklifts and other PIV equipment, including wire-guided trucks and order pickers

• Process and track inventory using RF/handheld scanners, maintaining accurate records and locations

• Perform cycle counts and support physical inventory audits to ensure inventory accuracy

• Safely operate equipment at heights up to 30 feet, following all safety procedures and site policies

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

• Support general warehouse operations and complete other tasks as assigned

What You’ll Need

• High School Diploma or GED

• 2+ years of forklift experience

• Certified PIV operation (Forklift, Wire Guided Trucks, and Order Pickers)

• Experience using RF scanners/handheld scanning devices

• Strong attention to detail and a consistent focus on workplace safety

• Ability to perform repetitive warehouse duties while standing/walking/carrying/reaching/pushing/pulling for approximately 80%–95% of the shift

• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. independently and up to 75 lbs. with team assistance

• Ability to safely work at heights up to 30 feet

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Available Schedules & Shifts

Workweek Shifts (12-hour shifts):

• 1A (Days): 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM, Sunday–Tuesday and alternating Wednesday

• 1B (Days): 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM, Thursday–Saturday and alternating Wednesday

• 2A (Nights): 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM, Sunday–Tuesday and alternating Wednesday

• 2B (Nights): 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM, Thursday–Saturday and alternating Wednesday

Traditional Shifts (8–10 hour shifts):

• Day Shift: Start times between 5:00 AM and 9:00 AM

• Swing Shift: Start times between 1:00 PM and 5:30 PM

• Night Shift: Start times between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM

Traditional shifts are Monday–Friday, with occasional weekend work as needed. Mandatory overtime may be required based on business needs.
