The Material Handler is responsible for safely receiving, moving, storing, and supplying raw materials throughout the facility. This position plays a critical role in supporting production by maintaining accurate inventory, ensuring material quality, and delivering materials to the appropriate work centers in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Unload incoming metal shipments safely and efficiently.
Pull and stage material according to production pull sheets.
Inspect metal and raw materials for quality and damage.
Maintain accurate inventory through required scanning processes.
Return unused materials to inventory using scanning procedures.
Transport materials throughout the area using forklifts and/or Combilifts.
Keep material storage areas clean, organized, and safe.
Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Ability to lift and move materials weighing 50-100 pounds.
Ability to read and understand English.
Experience operating a Forklift and/or Combilift preferred.
Basic computer skills and ability to use inventory scanning systems.
Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for up to 10-hour shifts.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
Preferred Skills:
Previous material handling or warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment.
Inventory control and material management experience.
Understanding of shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials.
Continuous standing, walking, bending, and reaching during the shift.
Ability to work safely around moving equipment and production machinery.
