Forklift Operator / Material Handler

Location: Suffolk, VA
Pay: $21.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM-10:00 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract-to-Hire

Position Summary

A well-established manufacturing company in Suffolk, VA is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator / Material Handler to join its warehouse team.

We are looking for someone with a strong work history, solid attendance, and 2+ years of recent forklift and warehouse experience. This position primarily operates an electric sit-down forklift and requires someone who is comfortable loading and unloading trailers, moving and stacking pallets, staging materials, and supporting shipping, receiving, and production.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate an electric sit-down forklift
• Load and unload trucks and trailers
• Move, stack, stage, and store pallets and materials
• Supply materials to production areas as needed
• Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and damage
• Use RF scanners and warehouse inventory systems
• Assist with shipping, receiving, order staging, and inventory activities
• Perform forklift safety inspections and report equipment concerns
• Maintain clean and organized aisles, docks, and staging areas
• Follow all warehouse, forklift, PPE, and safety procedures

Qualifications

• 2+ years of forklift, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or material handling experience preferred
• Recent sit-down forklift experience strongly preferred
• Experience loading and unloading trailers
• RF scanner and inventory experience preferred
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
• Reliable attendance and dependable work history
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing/warehouse environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to work Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM-10:00 PM
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
• Must be able to successfully complete a background check and drug screening
