We are seeking a highly skilled and driven General Manager & Qualifying Agent to lead our electrical contracting division. In this dual-role capacity, you will oversee all daily business operations, financial performance, and strategic growth while serving as the company’s licensed Electrical Contractor (CE).
The ideal candidate will possess a rare blend of executive leadership, operational expertise, and elite technical knowledge. As the Qualifying Agent, you will maintain ultimate legal responsibility for ensuring all projects comply with local, state, and National Electrical Code (NEC) standards, while concurrently scaling business revenue and managing field personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Leadership & Business Operations
- Strategic Growth: Develop and execute long-term operational plans to scale residential and commercial electrical services.
- P&L Responsibility: Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, project costing, and profit margin optimization.
- Team Management: Recruit, train, mentor, and schedule project managers, estimators, journeymen, and apprentices.
- Client Relations: Manage relationships with key accounts, general contractors, developers, and municipal inspectors.
Technical Oversight & Compliance (Qualifying Agent)
- License Maintenance: Serve as the designated Qualifying Agent holding the active state Electrical Contractor (CE) license.
- Permit & Code Compliance: Oversee the pulling of all required electrical permits and ensure all work adheres to current NEC, state, and local building codes.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct site visits and technical audits to guarantee flawless execution, safety, and operational excellence.
- Safety Leadership: Implement and enforce robust OSHA and company-wide safety programs to minimize workplace hazards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Licensure: Active and unblemished state Electrical Contractor License (CE) or equivalent master-level certification eligible for immediate reciprocity.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in electrical project management, operations management, or general management within the electrical contracting industry.
- Field Expertise: Minimum of 8 years of hands-on electrical trade experience (residential, commercial, or industrial).
- Software Proficiency: Experience with construction management and electrical estimating software (e.g., Procore, ServiceTitan, McCormick, Bluebeam).
