Job Title: Forklift Operator (Part-Time)
Location: Rochester, NY

Summary: Nesco Resource is seeking a dependable and detail-focused Forklift Operator for a warehouse in Rochester, NY. This is a full-time, Direct Hire opportunity offering excellent long-term potential.

This role starts with unloading inbound trucks and transitions into loading outbound shipments over time. The ideal candidate will have experience operating sit-down, counterbalanced electric forklifts , be comfortable using RF scanners , and demonstrate strong attention to detail—particularly when matching long serial numbers and ensuring accurate placement of product.

Shift:

• 1st Shift – 7:00/8:00 AM Start Time, Hours are Flexible
• 2nd Shift – 4:00/5:00 PM Start Time, Hours are Flexible
• 3-4 Days/ 30 Hours Per Week
  • Overtime is available on Saturdays. Senior employees are given first choice; if not claimed, junior employees may be required to work.

• $18.25 per hour to start

• Operate sit-down, counterbalanced electric forklifts for unloading and eventually loading trucks
• Use RF scanners to track inventory and verify product placement
• Accurately match long serial numbers and follow staging protocols
• Ensure correct placement of materials in designated loading bays
• Follow safe stacking practices (e.g., avoid stacking heavy items on lighter ones)
• Think critically to arrange awkward-shaped pallets into trailers efficiently
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Comply with all warehouse, safety, and union policies

• Recent forklift operating experience required
• Stand-up forklift experience is a plus , but not required
• Strong attention to detail and ability to match alphanumeric codes
• Good math skills and common-sense decision making
• Punctuality, excellent attendance , and a positive attitude are a must
• Willingness to learn and grow in a team environment
• Prior experience with RF scanners is preferred

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, and twist for extended periods
• Work environment may include exposure to variable temperatures and warehouse conditions
