Forklift Operator - Wine Warehouse
Job Location: Ripon, California
Job Type: Temporary
Pay Rate: $24-$24.95/hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7am-3:30pm
Description of Position:
Do you have forklift experience working in a wine warehouse or production environment? Our client is looking for an experienced Lift Truck Operator to safely move materials, supplies, and finished products throughout the warehouse, production, and shipping areas. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of forklift experience, works well in a dynamic environment, and understands the importance of safety and accuracy.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate powered forklifts to safely move materials throughout the facility
- Receive and inspect dry goods and packaging materials
- Use the JDE system and RF technology to process inventory and receiving transactions
- Supply production lines with necessary materials and supplies
- Remove and store finished products from production lines and inbound trucks
- Move inventory to assigned locations and maximize warehouse space
- Assist with physical inventory
- Stage materials and assist with loading outbound trucks
- Perform daily forklift safety checks and basic maintenance
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
Description of Company:
You will be supporting a well established wine warehouse in Ripon, California.
Experience Required:
- 1+ year of forklift/lift truck experience in a dynamic environment
- Previous warehouse or production experience
- Wine warehouse experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and understand safety rules, work orders, schedules, and procedures
- Basic math skills and strong attention to detail
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to safely operate a powered lift truck
- Ability to follow safety procedures and work independently
- Steel toed shoes required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move up to 55 pounds
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors
- Ability to work in warm and cold environments
- Comfortable working on wet surfaces and around moving equipment
- Ability to work around forklift traffic, mechanical equipment, noise, fumes, and cleaning chemicals
- Comfortable working in a warehouse/distribution environment
